Oct8ne allows the integration of the search engine with Doofinder, within the Prestashop dashboard. In order for it to be configured correctly, these simple steps must be carried out.
First of all, as a REQUIREMENT, it is essential that Doofinder is installed and working on your own page, otherwise, the Oct8ne search engine would not be able to work.
To do this, you can follow Doofinder's documentation at this link:
https://www.doofinder.com/en/blog/installation-and-configuration-of-doofinder-for-prestashop
Once Doofinder is up and running on the page, let's proceed to the Oct8ne plugin setup
Configure the search engine in the Oct8ne plugin.
We go to the Oct8ne plugin settings within the Prestashop dashboard, in the corresponding section we will find the search engine settings.
In the 'Search engine' field, choose 'Doofinder search engine'.
This option will only be visible if the Doofinder plugin is installed in your store.
In the 'DOOFINDER SEARCH ZONE' field, add the region in which your Doofinder is configured.
You'll need to add the first few characters, before the hyphen ('-'), which you'll find in the API KEY.
In the 'DOOFINDER API KEY' field we will add the number of API KEYs. JUST THE NUMBER! Since the region, we have introduced it in the previous field.
In the 'DOOFINDER HASH ID' field (also called ‘search engine id'), we will add the ID number that corresponds to the search engine.
These are the required fields for Doofinder to be configured with Oct8ne.
If, even so, the search does not return results or presents problems, we can 'fine-tune' the results by modifying some additional parameters.
Additional Parameter Configuration
In the 'DOOFINDER INDEXES' field, you can add the same indexes that you have set up in the Doofinder dashboard for that Product Feed.
In the 'DOOFINDER PRODUCTID PROPERTY' field, you need to add the feed property that corresponds to the internal product ID within the Prestashop. By default, it is ‘id' but it may have been modified. Here you will need to set up that new 'mapping'
Finally, in the 'DOOFINDER QUERY TYPE' field, it is the one that defines the type of search that is configured in your Doofinder panel (by default, fuzzy). It can be modified using this selector.
Finally, click on 'Save', once you have filled in all the fields.
